Puppy Preschool

Calling all puppies!!  Congratulations on your new addition!  Puppies are cute and full of life and exhausting. Positive experiences, training, exposure to different sights and sounds and socialization for your new puppy is critical.  To help you raise a well-rounded puppy, Wag’n Paddle is offering a 3-hour stay and play preschool for your puppy.

During their time with us, we concentrate on positive play experiences with dogs their own age. They are exposed to different surfaces and sounds, leash walking, name recognition, bathtubs and water.  We play dress up so the puppies practice encountering people with hats, coats and sunglasses.  We also practice handling exercises – checking teeth, ears, feet and grabbing collars.  All of these experiences are meant to get your puppy more comfortable and create positive experiences in this big new world!

Dogs from our Canine College daycare also drop in as our Teacher Assistants. This is the best way for these puppies to learn what is/is not appropriate play.  Rest assured, these dogs are very familiar and comfortable playing with and teaching the young ones how to play and how to rest.

How Can You Sign Up?

First,  sign up for an account on our website. From this account you can upload your puppy’s age-appropriate vaccinations (we require proof of rabies, distemper, Bordetella, a negative fecal within the last year, and the influenza vaccine) and request a reservation for puppy preschool. If they are younger than 4 months, they do not need to have their rabies vaccine yet!

Puppy preschool is for dogs up to 6 months (24 weeks) of age. The cost for 3 hours is $25 (similar to a single one hour training class, but you get a full 3 hours of activity and learning – with one tired puppy returned to you)!! You can even add on a nail trim, day training session, a bath – a shampoo, light dry and light brush – or a swim in one of our in-ground heated pools!

Puppy preschool will have a maximum of 10 canine students and will run Tuesday through Friday mornings from 9:30am-12:30pm. If we do not have at least 3 puppies for class, we will call and try to reschedule with you.
