During the COVID-19 stay at home mandate, many families have decided to take the plunge and add a 4-legged friend to their home. Since social distancing is prohibiting gathering for training classes and even socialization for your new puppy (which is critical at this stage in their life), we have decided to roll out a 3-hour stay and play preschool for your puppy.
During their time with us, we will concentrate on positive play experiences with dogs their own age as well as dogs from our regular daycare dropping in to mingle with your puppy so they can learn how to play with the ‘big’ dogs (rest assured, these dogs are very well behaved and are comfortable playing with and teaching the young ones how to play and how to rest.
We will also take some time exposing them to different walking surfaces, leash walking, how to get up into our baths, encountering people with hats, coats, sunglasses, etc. so they can get more comfortable and have positive experiences in this big new world!
How Can You Sign Up?
First, make certain to sign up for an account on our website, or log in. From this account you can book your morning at preschool and upload any or all age-appropriate vaccinations (we require proof of rabies, distemper, Bordetella, a negative fecal within the last year, and the influenza vaccine). If they are younger than 4 months, they do not need to have their rabies vaccine yet!
Puppy preschool is for dogs up to 6 months of age. The cost for 3 hours is $20 (similar to a single one hour training class, but you get a full 3 hours of activity and learning – with one tired puppy returned to you)!! You can even add on a bath – a shampoo, light dry and light brush – or a swim in one of our in-ground heated pools for only $15 (our member rate)!
Puppy preschool will have a maximum of 8 canine students and will run Monday through Friday mornings from 10am-1pm. If we do not have at least 3 puppies for class, we will call and try to reschedule with you.
